When the Semrush MCP is the better pick

If your team already lives in Semrush, its MCP gives your AI the same numbers you see in the app, including your Position Tracking and Site Audit projects and its traffic estimates. Nothing to reconcile.

When CrakSEO is the better pick

You're a solo founder, affiliate or developer who wants live SEO data in Claude or Cursor without a monthly suite plan. You pay only for the calls your AI makes.

You also want your own Search Console data and indexing in the same client. Those servers are free.

Use both

Does the Semrush MCP cost extra?

It uses API units from an eligible Semrush plan rather than a separate MCP fee, so you need a Semrush subscription that includes API units. Check Semrush's pricing page for current plans; we last checked in October 2026.
