The order that gets you listed fastest
Do the submissions that feed other directories first, then work down the list.
Publish to the official registry
One server.json and the mcp-publisher CLI. GitHub's MCP Registry, PulseMCP and several clients import from it.
Submit to the MCP directories
Glama, Smithery, mcpservers.org and Launch MCP are free. Give each server its own listing.
Add install buttons in clients
Open pull requests to the Docker, ToolHive, Cline and Kilo Code catalogs once your server installs cleanly.
List the product on AI directories
One listing per product on FutureTools, SaaSHub, Product Hunt and the rest, naming every server inside it.

What to prepare before you submit
Most forms ask for the same things. Have them ready and you can work through this list in an afternoon.
- A clear server name and a one-line description of what it does, written for the person searching
- The endpoint URL and transport (Streamable HTTP for remote servers, or the install command for local ones)
- How it authenticates: OAuth, an API key, or none
- A docs page with setup steps for Claude, Cursor and other clients
- A square logo, at least 512 px
- A server.json for the official registry and catalogs that import it
- A public GitHub repository, for awesome lists and client marketplaces that review code
- A test account or demo key, so directories that health-check your server see it working
Where can I submit my MCP server?
Start with the Official MCP Registry, because GitHub's MCP Registry, PulseMCP and several clients import from it. Then submit to MCP directories such as Glama, Smithery, mcpservers.org and Launch MCP, client catalogs such as Docker, Cline and ToolHive, and general AI directories. This page lists 51 places with cost and how to submit.
Is there an official MCP server registry?
Yes. The Official MCP Registry at registry.modelcontextprotocol.io is run by the Model Context Protocol project. You publish a server.json with the mcp-publisher CLI and prove you own the namespace through GitHub or a DNS record on your domain.
Is it free to submit an MCP server?
Mostly. 41 of the 51 places on this list had a free option when we checked in October 2026. A few, such as mcp.so for remote servers and MCP Market, charged a listing fee, and some free AI directories ask for a backlink or badge in return.
Do I need a GitHub repository to list my MCP server?
Not for most directories: a hosted remote server with a docs page is enough for the official registry, Glama, Smithery and the web-form directories. Awesome lists and client marketplaces such as Cline, Docker and Kilo Code review by pull request and usually expect a public repository.
Should I submit each MCP server separately?
On MCP directories, yes: one listing per server gives each its own page and search result. On general AI and startup directories, submit one listing for the whole product and name every server in the description, because duplicate listings are often rejected.
How long does MCP directory approval take?
The official registry publishes as soon as the CLI succeeds. Web-form directories usually review within one to two weeks; some launch directories queue free listings for months and sell a faster slot.
Do MCP directory listings help SEO?
They help people and AI clients find your server, and some listings link to your site. Not every link passes ranking value, so check that your listing pages are indexed and pair them with relevant links from sites on your topic.
Listed everywhere? Now get found in Google.
Directories send a trickle of visitors. Search sends the rest. CrakSEO submits every new page on your site to Google and Bing for free, and builds backlinks on autopilot from real sites in your niche.
